On the third Wednesday of November, hundreds of organizations across the Netherlands open their doors to curious job seekers. The JobOn Foundation has been organizing this nationwide networking day since 2013, and the 2024 edition once again demonstrates just how much of an impact a simple conversation can have.
Networking Works: 1,103 Conversations in a Single Day
No fewer than 615 job seekers participated in the National Job Visit Day in 2024. Together, they held 1,103 networking meetings with 338 employers. From the government to the construction sector and from coaching to healthcare: the doors were wide open. For many participants, this was the perfect opportunity to get a glimpse into a new industry or organization in an accessible way.
Job seekers gain insight and confidence
This day has a significant impact. As many as 92% of participants recommend that others take part as well. Participants say that they:
- To better understand which organizations are a good fit for them;
- Gained a better understanding of job roles and industries;
- Expand their network with greater confidence.
As one participant so aptly put it:
“The conversation gave me valuable insights and helped me feel more confident in myself.”
Employers also benefit from this meeting
It’s not just job seekers who make valuable connections. Employers rate the event an average of 8.7! They see the Career Fair as an opportunity to:
- Discovering new talent;
- To inspire people in their field;
- To put the organization in a positive light;
- To contribute to corporate social responsibility.
