The JobOn Foundation is the driving force behind the

National Work Visit Day

About

About Us

Initiator

Work Visit Day was conceived in 2013 by Prof. Dr. Ton Wilthagen of Tilburg University to reduce the mismatch in the labor market and bring untapped talent to the attention of employers. Since 2017, the JobOn Foundation has been the national driving force behind National Work Visit Day, collaborating with NLwerktaanwerk, the UWV, and various other organizations.

JobOn is the leading national community for anyone looking to take the next step in their career

Through inspiring workshops and online training courses, the JobOn Foundation helps build the self-confidence, professional networks, and skills of untapped talent in the Netherlands. JobOn is a non-profit ANBI foundation. Thanks to donations from participants, grants from municipalities, sponsorship from businesses, and contributions from foundations, we are working to establish a sustainable funding mix.

Social Impact

Despite the tight labor market, many people still face obstacles in finding suitable work. By this, we mean work that is energizing and takes place in a suitable environment. In recent years, the JobOn Foundation has launched various initiatives to reduce the mismatch in the labor market. In addition to our own programs, we undertake commissioned projects that contribute to an inclusive labor market.

“We believe in the power of networking. We also see every day how it leads to new opportunities. Especially when you’re currently unemployed, it’s important to broaden your horizons and actively network. The National Job Visit Day fits in perfectly with this.” – Josée Blanken

Josée Blanken

Director of the JobOn Foundation

I am the executive director and board member of the JobOn Foundation. To ensure the success of the Job Fair, we are in contact with hundreds of employers, as well as with organizations such as the regional Employer Service Centers and industry associations. The more employers that open their doors, the more options there are for the hundreds of job seekers in the JobOn network.

“At JobOn, we believe in the power of networking.”

The event isn’t just interesting for people between jobs, but also for employers looking to build their employer brand—and, of course, for professionals who simply want to share their enthusiasm for their profession, job, or industry during a networking conversation with motivated job seekers.

Imre Meier

Project Manager for "National Work Visit Day"

Since March 2023, I have been working as a Communications Specialist at the JobOn Foundation, where my responsibilities include managing social media, the website, and writing blogs and newsletters. That same year, I also began working as a Communications Specialist for National Workplace Visit Day. During the 14th edition of National Workplace Visit Day on November 18, I will serve as the project leader and primary point of contact.

“It’s great to be able to bring supply and demand together through the Work Visit Day.”

National Job Shadowing Day is a great way to expand your network, gain new insights, and—as a bonus—maybe even find a new job or a new colleague!
